Teo Musso studied the craft of beer brewing with Christian van Haverbeke and Jean Louis Dits, two of the world’s best brew masters. He opened a bar called Le Baladin in 1986 in Piozzo, a small village high up in the Piemontese hills above the Barolo wine country. Baladin initially focussed on providing beautiful Belgian beers and great live music, however, global success of the beer range has seen the seen the company become the flag bearer for Italian craft beer around the world.

For Teo Musso, beer is passion, an intense love for taste and certainly a form of expression. Through his recipes, he has communicated special moments in his life, sides of his being and his constant search for the perfect sensory balance. Isaac and Wayan tell of the birth of his children, while Nora tells a love story and memories of spices discovered in his journeys through Morocco. The more recent Nazionale expresses the commitment to working in direct contact with the Earth and the desire to be Italian. The company also makes a range of Italian soft drinks inspired by Teo's childhood memories and a Normandy-style dry apple cider.

The Baladin company is  heavily involved in expanding social programs for disadvantaged people, such as a multi-functional vocational school teaching brewing, cooking and other skills applicable to the food and beverage industry.
