Features

  • 100% Nebbiolo
  • 91 POINTS, Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate
A release of 6,000 bottles, the Bruna Grimaldi 2017 Barolo Badarina is open-knit and softly layered in manner we don't usually see with the Nebbiolo grape. This is, of course, due to the vintage heat and drought that resulted in a shorter growing season. The longer the season, the greater the complexity, and it goes to follow that the 2017s are less complex compared to a cooler vintage. This wine is also characterized by crushed flowers and wild rose. Winemaking saw 30 days of maceration with submerged cap, malolactic fermentation in cement vats and aging in large oak casks for 30 months. All these steps have preserved the basic flavor freshness of the wine.
