Description

Paolo and Michele Dorigati manage their 5.5 hectares of vines in the Piana Rotaliana, a visually striking landscape in the middle of the Dolomite mountains in Trentino.

The Teroldego grape is at the heart of the Dorigati operation, and theirs is an outstanding example of this unique wine. Teroldego is a difficult grape to grow and to make wine from, and doesn’t seem to adapt well in other parts of Italy. Typical characteristics of the wine include herbs, spices, strawberry and bell pepper aromas and flavours.

The Piana Rotaliana and its hilly terrain around the Noce river mean the vines are grown in quite gravelly, pebble-based soils; giving the grapes a measurable intensity and a quality that can be traced back to their soils.
