Enoteca Sileno is the Italian Wine and Italian Food Specialist. The company is an importer and wholesaler of Italian wines and Italian food. It also operates an Italian food and wine shop, online store, Italian restaurant and wine bar. It also has a Gift Hamper service, Italian Cooking School and Private Dinning and Function venue.
The food portfolio features Moretti corn polenta and buckwheat polenta, Ferron rice - both Vialone Nano and Carnaroli, which are regarded the best risotto rice, Martelli pasta, La Genuina and Rustichella pasta, whole and cracked farro, Mulino Sardo Fregola from Sardinia and Naturbosco porcini mushroom and truffle products. They also stock the Bi-Aglut gluten-free products.
The selection of Extra Virgin Olive Oils includes Caroli, Ardoino, Salvagno, Mongibello and Spagnoletti. They feature single estate, cold pressed and organic olive oils. There is an equally wide range of balsamic, vinegar and vincotto. The portfolio also includes antipasto products, saffron from Aquila, Borrometi Sicilian Sea Salt, Mostarda, Scalia anchovies, Italian salted capers, Italian tinned tomatoes and pasta sauces, Italian jams and honey, squid ink and bottarga. Tosteria del Corso Italian espresso coffee and Moretto Barbagliata hot chocolate.
There is also a selection of Bonajuto chocolate of Modica, Giraudi chocolate and hazelnut spreads, Cantuccini biscuits, Italian nougat and panforte. Enoteca is also imports the brands Perbellini, Flamigni and Sinatti artisan Panettone, Pandoro and Torrone for Christmas.
A genuine enoteca, the company stocks wines from all Italian regions. From Piedmont there are esteemed winemakers Renato Ratti and G.D. Vajra who produce Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Dolcetto from the Langhe. Other Piemontese wines include Gattinara and Spanna, Roero Arneis, Gavi, Erbaluce di Caluso, Brachetto by Braida, Moscato and Spumante. From Lombardy there is Franciacorta, Lugana and Bonarda. From Trentino Alto Adige Hofstatter wines Lagrein, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero and Gewurztraminer; from Cantina Valle Isarco Eisacktaler, Sylvaner, Muller Thurgau and Zweigelt; and from Dorigati, Teroldego Rotaliano and Pinot Grigio.
The Veneto region is represented by Adami Prosecco and Tedeschi Soave, Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto. Friuli Venezia Giulia gives us Di Lenardo Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay; Refosco, Schioppettino and Ramandolo by Giovanni Dri and wines of Le Vigne di Zamò and Russolo. Tuscan wines include Chianti Classico from Castello di Ama and Chianti Colli Senesi from Casabianca, Morellino di Scansano, Vernaccia and other wines of San Gimignano and the famous Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino by winemakers such as Mastrojanni, Fanti and Agricola San Felice.
From Umbria in Central Italy come Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Grechetto, while the Marches produces Pecorino, Rosso Piceno and Verdicchio. The Abruzzo producer Zaccagnini is renowned for wines including Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. Southern Italian regions of Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia (Apulia) produce wines with local indigenous varieties such as Falanghina, Fiano, Greco di Tufo, Aglianico del Vulture, Greco Bianco, Gaglioppo, Nero di Troia, Bombino, Negramaro and Pampanuto. Sardinian wines include Vermentino, Carignnano and Cannonau. Sicilian wines include Mt Etna label Benanti and the wines Etna Bianco made from Carricante grapes and Etna Rosso made with Nerello Mascalese. Barone Sergio and Tasca d'Almerita produce wines from local varieties Grillo, Catarratto, Malvasia and Nero d'Avola. From producer Rallo we have wines made from Insolia and Zibibbo and excellent Marsala Fine, Superiore and Vergine.
The Aeolian Islands are best known for their rich dessert wines such as Malvasia delle Lipari and Passito di Pantelleria. Enoteca Sileno also has a range of hand-crafted boutique beers by Baladin, Eggenberger and Magalotti. There is also a large range of grappa by Bepi Tosolini and Andrea Da Ponte, liqueurs by Varnelli and Lucrezio and Limoncello by Fratelli Canale. The company is also the Australian distributor of the Vintage View wine cellar and storage system.
