Description
Tedeschi specializes in making wines of longevity. Amarone is one of the most labour-intensive fine wines in the world, and winemaker Riccardo Tedeschi and his family set a benchmark example in Valpolicella.
This wine is made from a high selection of grapes coming from a single vineyard called 'Fabriseria' located in the high hill of Valpolicella. Nature has not always been generous, that is why, since 1983, this wine has only been produced in certain outstanding vintages, namely 1983, 1988, 1995, 1997, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015.
The traditional grapes of Valpolicella are dried in special drying rooms for about four months, where the grapes lose about 30% of their weight before they are gently pressed, and the wine ages for three years before bottling.
Amarone is a very unique wine made with grapes that are especially suited to the drying and ageing process, making it one of the most long-lived wines in the world.
